GENERAL INFORMATION:

Any high school age boy from any school is welcome to play Summer Baseball with the Dolphin Baseball Club.  However, since this level of play is reasonably high, there is no guarantee that Juniors and Seniors will be automatically placed with older boys just because of their age.  The coaching staff will decide a player's level.  Safety is our paramount concern.

Our Summer program will be a mix of traditional baseball work combined with games/scrimmages.

Coach Risney will coordinate the Club activities.  Normal baseball practice gear will be required and attendance will be taken!   New members will be provided with hats and practice jerseys

Questions can be directed to Coach Risney at his email.

Please note that playing baseball with the Dolphin Baseball Club does not assure you of winning a position on the actual OLHS baseball team in the spring.

Summer Program----All Returning Varsity-----Older Boys

1. All returning Varsity players should plan to play on our Palomino team this summer:
12 games----Games on Wed and Sunday
Practice day is Tuesday after the incoming Freshmen practice---usually 6:00 PM
Start mid June----end at end of July
Coach Green will be the Head Coach
Cost $125---checks made to Dolphin Baseball Club  Need committment and money ASAP!!
Uniform for any Club game or practice will always be the standard Club uniform of blue or gold practice jersey, white with navy pin stripe pants, navy belt, socks and batting helmet----and any OLHS hat.
2. Selected younger players will be allowed to "float" between the Colt and Palomino teams
One $125 fee will cover activities on either team, pay summer dues and any other fees required by the Club for the summer.  Any boy that has money difficulties---see coach Risney for work assignments to pay off your fee----we NEVER turn down a boy because of money!!
3. At the conclusion of the Palomino regular season (mid July)-----the Club will reform to play approximately four games against outside competition and practice as necessary.  The Club will finish all summer activities at the end of July and take the month of August off.  We will have the Fall Ball Organizational Meeting on Sept. 10th, which is the first Friday of school. Fall Ball will begin on Monday Sept 13th and run till the end of October.  We are looking at a more traditional Fall Ball schedule with outside competition in the form of games and or tournaments---just like last year..
4. A “perform on your own” weight lifting, long toss and summer conditioning program is expected from each player as well.  This is a "do it yourself" program----but can certainly be accomplished with a buddy or two. Personal trainers and gym contracts are not necessary, but not discouraged.  Most personal training programs that you set up with professionals are entirely acceptable, but brief Coach Spedden.
5. Hitting facilities will always be available during normal summer school hours, combination:  4,5,6  If trying to hit after normal summer school hours----best to coordinate with a coach to insure gate is unlocked.
6.  Expect to help with fund raising efforts during the summer as they arise.
7. Expect to help with field maintenance from time to time-----a beautiful field requires effort!
