The Dolphin Baseball Club will once again offer a complete summer , fall and winter program to all interested high school age baseball players. Our program is open to members from any high school and is not limited ot OLHS. Coach John Risney is the overall coordinator. Activities will include regular workouts, drills, hitting, video analysis, scrimmages and games between ourselves and possibly other baseball clubs around the city.
Workout dates will be posted but the club generally, works out during the week and leaves weekends open for possible participation by memebers in other leagues (Rec, Travel and AAU)----except those Sundays that we offer our academies. Games and scrimmages will be set up based upon player availability and skill level. Workouts and scrimmages will mostly take place at OLHS field but may also take place at other fields in the city.
Dues fluctuate based upon club needs but generally will follow these guidelines:
Summer = $85 - New Player $50 - Returning HS Player
Fall = $50
Winter = $50
These fee will cover insurance, hats, T-shirts, umpires, field maintenance and equipment for the program.
Uniform for outdoor baseball work is white with navy pin stripe pants, navy belt and socks, any OLHS hat, navy batting helmet and either gold or blue practice jerseys. New members will be provided hats and practice jerseys.
Participation in the Dolphin Baseball Club Program does not guarantee a position on the team in the Spring.
Dads and other volunteers are always needed to assist this program. Please email Coach Risney below if you can help.
ANY high school age boy is welcome to become a member of the club---from ANY high school. Younger boys than HS age are also welcome as long as their skill level does not indicate a safety issue. We are registered with the federal government as a non-profit, public charity with the specific goal of providing young people an opportunity to participate in "America's Greatest Game." Our Tax ID# is available on request. Donations are ALWAYS welcome.
In addition to the normal club activities, we will occassionally offer during the season special "Hitters & Pitchers Academies" on Sundays!!----and the opportunity for any player to request video analysis of his swing or play with critique from Coach Spedden.
